What is New for the 2025 Ford Expedition?
The 2025 Ford Expedition is ready to take your family on unforgettable adventures. The redesign includes a number of exterior, interior, and technology updates made for fun and functional trips. The new Ford split gate provides a unique tailgate-worthy experience for your whole crew to enjoy. The all-new Ford Expedition TREMOR trim is the most off-road-ready trim in the Expedition lineup. Equipped with 33-inch all-terrain tires, an electronic-locking rear differential, and underbody shielding, you’ll be able to take on the trails with confidence. It also pulls off impressive performance with a 440-horsepower high-output EcoBoost® V6 engine.
Planning an overnight camping trip or a bonfire night? The 360-degree zone lighting adds an extra sense of security. Lights emanate from the headlamps, grille, roof rails, liftgate, and spoiler, ensuring that you can see around your entire vehicle while you’re loading it or securing it for the night.
Inside the Ford Expedition, you’ll find a fresh Ford Digital Experience that eases your access to the tech you need. Set at eye-level above the dashboard is a 24-inch panoramic digital display, which gives you access to features like driving data, maps, and music. This new display configuration is designed to reduce your need to look to the side to consult the dashboard screen, meaning that you can spend more time focused on the road ahead. A 13.2-inch center-stack touchscreen is set in a more traditional place in the dashboard beneath the 24-inch display, and information can be shared and configured between the two displays.
2025 Ford Expedition Engine & Performance
Powerful performance is available across the 2025 Ford Expedition lineup. There are two engine options available, the standard 3.5L EcoBoost V6 and TREMOR-exclusive high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6. A 4x2 drivetrain is standard on the base Expedition Active™ trim, or you can opt for available 4x4, which becomes standard through the rest of the lineup. Planning to tow? A 4x4 Ford Expedition can tow up to 9,600 pounds, which is reduced slightly to 9,000 pounds if you opt for the extended-length Expedition MAX. Meanwhile, 4x2 Expedition SUVs can tow up to 6,000 pounds.

2025 Ford Expedition Capacity & Seating
The 2025 Ford Expedition and 2025 Ford Expedition MAX both offer cavernous cabins with plenty of room for up to eight passengers in three rows of seating. If your second-row passengers prefer additional space to stretch, higher-level trims swap out the second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs, reducing the seating capacity to seven passengers. Comfortably fold down both rear rows with available power-folding capabilities to take advantage of up to 108.5 cubic feet of cargo space in the Expedition or 123.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the Expedition MAX.

2024 Ford ExpeditionEngine Specs
While all 2024 Ford Expedition models include a powerful 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine under the hood, the power output varies greatly depending on the Expedition model you select. The XL STX and XLT models come with the standard engine output, while the Limited, King Ranch®, and Platinum® models produce an additional 20 horsepower and an additional ten pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Limited-exclusive Stealth Performance Package and Timberline® model are equipped with a high-output version of the same engine, which produces thrilling performance.
If you plan to tow conventionally, you can tow up to 6,000 pounds with the Expedition and 6,300 pounds with the Expedition MAX. Or, choose the Heavy-Duty Trailer Towing Package to add about 3,000 pounds of towing capacity, for a total of 9,300 pounds towing capacity with the Expedition or 9,000 pounds with the Expedition MAX.
